A craft brewery and a performing arts studio featuring the dance and music of Puerto Rico were first-place winners in the NC State University College of Management’s 2006 Entrepreneurship Education Initiative (EEI) $10K Business Plan Competition.

Winners of the competition were announced during the EEI Networking Event held in early May at the Raleigh Country Club in Raleigh, NC.

First place in the open division competition went to Brendan Johnston, president of The Standard Brewing Company, located in Walnut Cove, north of Winston-Salem, NC. Johnston is the second undergraduate student to reach the finals in the open division, and the first to win.
