ALBANY, N.Y., Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- New York residents and business owners affected by storms and flooding occurring June 26 through July 10, 2006, have now received over $50 million in approved U.S. Small Business Administration Disaster Loans.
"Providing local small businesses with the capital they need to get on their feet again after the recent flood is absolutely critical to the overall flood recovery effort," U.S. Representative Maurice Hinchey said. "With more than $50 million in low-interest loans already approved, we are taking the steps necessary to make a painful and difficult process as easy as possible for local small business owners. I applaud SBA's outreach efforts and encourage all business owners impacted by this disaster to come forward and apply for these low-interest loans."
