Business Startups - BCC Offers Assistance in Starting New Businesses

In 2006, the U.S. Small Business Association selected Ginny Robert to receive the Women in Business Champion Award for the Syracuse district, which includes Greater Binghamton. Ginny Robert is director of the region’s Entrepreneurial Assistance Program and only one of the many subject-matter experts who is dedicated to teaching EAP entrepreneurs the nuts and bolts of operating a successful business venture.

The Entrepreneurial Assistance Program is a partnership of Broome Community College, the Broome County Urban League, Broome Tioga Workforce Development and the City of Binghamton. It is designed to assist women, minorities, individuals with disabilities, and dislocated workers in forming new businesses through acquiring the skills and capital needed to turn business concepts into a reality.
